Goin' commando all her life.
Growing up as an army brat was pretty tough. My parents were never strict on me though. It gets to be difficult to live in one place for no more than three years. I moved around to so many places. I've lived in quite a few States, Europe, Canada, and Asia. Now I can say I have a “best friend” in so many places! (laughs) I always find it hard to keep in touch with people so I've lost connection between so many of my friends in the past ... which sucks. Moving around isn't too hard on the family because I think we've been used to it ... but at the same time, depending on where we're living, you have to know that you're not gonna see your family for a while. There's the occasional summer break or Christmas time ... which is okay. Better than waiting out the entire three to four years.
All roads lead back to Calgary.
I was eighteen when I left my parents' home. We were living in England, where I'd just finished school. I took classes at the University of Cambridge for computers, which completely got me into the career I'm in now. I lived here in Calgary years ago for awhile, and my “significant other” was still here when I finished school, so I moved back in July. And here I am! |
